Tattoos are us!

Uncle A had given Mrs H a temporary hand tattoo kit for Christmas and as it is half term week, it was decided this was the ideal time to try the kit out. Grandma is also over visiting for the week so everyone joined in. The tattoos were great however the removal of the afore-mentioned 'temporary' tattoos was a little more complicated and involved cooking oil (in lieu of skin oil as per the instructions - unsuccessful), sellotape (as per the instructions - honest! ineffective and painful) and eventually success via a mountain of baby wipes!!!!

The Aliens have landed....

Well actually little Z had been getting creative with one of AJ's odd socks at school. We were really impressed with the end result! Who knows - if there is life out there and it looks like this then maybe it wouldn't be scary after all?????

Badminton achievements

AJ took part in a primary school tournament yesterday and performed extremely well. He got to the singles semi-finals having won 6 matches. With his partner from school, they played fabulously and made it to the boys doubles finals where they did lose but had a great match. He received trophies for both singles and doubles and we are very proud of him.

Little Z was also very proud of her hard work trophy from badminton last week and am sure would have preferred not to have to hand it back today!

High School visitation

On Thursday we all went to have a look at the high school that AJ will be going to in September. There was so much to see and of particular interest to AJ was the computer facilities, the Science facilities and the Technology and Design area. Little Z was particularly impressed with the Dance Theatre and joined in with the pupils demonstration of You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray much to their amusement!!

Click - add to basket - now where's the credit card?

Even little princesses need to 'work' on the computer at times. I am sure that this princess will no doubt take after her mummy for her online shopping skills!!!

Cool as can be

Little Z decided to help herself to AJ's hat and glasses - an actress or model in the making?!!

Where did January 2011 go????

It only seems like 5 mins ago that it was Christmas with all the chaos that it brought. Since then AJ has turned 11, Mr H has got another year older too. Football, dancing, badminton and gymnastics were all back with a vengeance once school opened again. AJ won the first badminton league he joined and moved up to the next level which is proving challenging. Mr & Mrs H made a decision about summer holidays and we are off to Turkey in August. Mrs H joined in the family no 2 sport of fencing and managed to sustain a knee injury almost straight away!! Grandma and Grandpa popped over for a quick visit from Liverpool which was really nice especially as Grandpa hadn't been to the Isle of Man since April 2010. Mr H was promoted in work and we are all very proud of him. Little Z was awarded her first trophy in badminton club for trying the hardest last week and is so proud. Phew!!!!

New transportation

Yesterday, we were finally able to road test the new ride ons that AJ and little Z received for Christmas. It was damp and freezing fog but a great time was had by all.

Merry Christmas

Santa was very generous in our household this year as you can clearly see - we had a lovely day and all the better for not having a big Christmas dinner to prepare. Fish and chips went down really well and meant that the roast dinner on Boxing Day was more appreciated.

Vsiting friends

We managed to go to see some friends and deliver presents and as you can see little Z was right at home feeding baby S!
